Addaction appoints new Chief Executive

Simon Antrobus, has been appointed the new Chief Executive of Addaction, the UK’s largest specialist drug treatment agency.

Simon was the Chief Executive of Clubs for Young People, and over the last 5 years he has successfully overseen the progression of this organisation to its present status as the UK’s lead authority on club based youth work. Prior to this he was the UK Director of Community Services at the Parkinson’s Disease Society, and Partnership Manager at Scope. His earlier career was spent in various community service roles in local authorities.

He has been Vice Chair of the National Council for Voluntary Youth Services, and was appointed by Ian Duncan Smith as Chair of the National Inquiry into Youth Crime and Gangs for the Centre for Social Justice.

Simon took up this appointment on 1 October 2009.
