Homeless Link Encourages Homeless People to Register to Vote in the General Election

Homeless Link has been working with The Electoral Commission to reminding people living in temporary accommodation or with no fixed address that they don’t need a permanent address to have a say at the next general election.

A poster and information pack has been distributed to homeless services and advice centres across the UK to promote voter registration rights and explain voter registration procedures.

Jenny Edwards, Chief Executive of Homeless Link commented:
“Homeless Link believes it is crucial that those who are experiencing homelessness use their political voice to influence the environment in which they live and the services they use. We welcome the recognition of the importance of homeless people’s votes and are working to increase awareness of voter registration procedures.”
